Summary

The Program Coordinator position is a part of the Center for Energy Policy and Management at Washington & Jefferson College, and reports to the Center's Director. The CEPM's Program Coordinator is a full-time, administrative position serving as an integral part of the Center's mission to conduct research, provide technical assistance to communities on matters related to energy and sustainability, and enrich the student experience. The Program Coordinator will assist the Director and the Program Manager & Policy Analyst in creating educational events and workshops for students, faculty, citizens, and public officials in the region, sustaining the Center's website and newsletter, securing grant funding for projects and programs, and managing on-campus initiatives designed to educate and empower students, faculty, and staff.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist the Center Director in planning, implementing, and evaluating energy policy programs and initiatives.
  • Conduct research and gather data to inform program development and implementation.
  • Assist with developing program materials, presentations, and reports.
  • Manage program budgets and track expenditures.
  • Coordinate logistics for program events, workshops, and meetings.
  • Maintain internal databases and records.
  • Develop and maintain communication channels with program stakeholders, including partners, participants, and funders.
  • Provide administrative support to the Director, including scheduling meetings, managing travel arrangements, and compiling reports.
  • Stay up to date on current energy policy issues and relevant legislation.
  • Contribute to grant proposals and reports.
  • Support student researchers and residents in the Center's new living-learning community.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental studies, public policy, energy science, or a related field master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience working in a non-profit or higher education setting.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Experience with Canva, InfoGram, and other design suites.
  • Basic web design, email marketing campaign, and social media skills.
